Pretty good effort there John. You nailed them. Joe is still rocking at 75.
It's funny how we all use different settings and can end up getting much the same results.
These are mine: In Manual mode

1. Lens’s widest aperture
2. A fast shutter speed - 1/200th up to 1/2000th
3. A high ISO
4. Spot metering
5. The middle autofocus point
6. Auto White Balance - easy to adjust in post
7. Short Burst mode
8. No flash - that's a given
9. RAW format

Lens at widest aperture and shutter speed and ISO on auto. Camera has face and eye detection which worked amazingly well in the low light environment and given that the subjects were squinting a lot of the time.
I ALWAYS shoot RAW.

Thanks Mark, modern cameras certainly make low light photography easier. Usually the hardest part is pushing your way through the crowd to obtain a good point to shoot from.
