Queens Birthday long weekend is the traditional weekend for the Bowen River Rodeo, went along last weekend for some fast action.

Here are a selection of shots from the calf roping.

Good shots - those horses really stop quickly once the calf is roped.

Yes I found it difficult to get a really close shot of the calf roping and having both the calf and horse in frame. I guess I could have cropped the first one, but the other two were just too far apart.
