  • Creek crossing

Went out for a drive yesterday, with our neighbours, in my ASX. Plan B was implemented at this crossing. We had ridden through here about a month ago.

I "insisted" that my car was not to be driven through it. From memory it should have a concrete base, but we weren't 100% sure that it was intact.
The main left 'puddle' was also reasonably deep.

Think of the positives Barb, if it hadn't have been like that, you wouldn't have seen those Alpacas
    Cheers, Brad.

Very true Brad ... they were definitely worth the detour

Car is too clean for that one.

It already had several months of 'dust' all over it .... and we had already driven along quite a bit of dirt, potholes and a couple of creek crossings ... not to mention the cow poop splattered under it as some of these roads crossed farm land. I need to wash it for sure now.

Our BT50 would have got through all right ... and our neighbours own a Ranger .... but it was our turn to 'drive' and the BT50 only seats two (dickie seats in the back) so the ASX it was.

My car gets dirtier than that on our driveway without a creek crossing after one trip. Only 1km long. Is the ASX an AWD or 2wd? I think I would have driven the Mazda cx5 through it. Wouldn't have even given it a thought in the Hilux. But it's better to be safe ....

It's AWD ... but we weren't sure of the depth or the stability of the 'bottom' of the crossing.

I have just come back from a town and it is obvious that we have had rain. Some the vehicles look as if they have had a mud bath. No point washing them they would look the same again by the time they get home.
