  • Kangaroo story

I was listening to an ABC program called "Pocket Docs" the other day while working in the garden. A story called "Dear Willy" by Robin De Crespigny kind of crept up on me. You see, Willy turned out to be a kangaroo, and I also have a tame kangaroo as you can see below. If you have time, click on the link and have a listen to the very end.

My boy is called Tucker, and in the picture below you can see what he does at night, at least during the colder months. On this night, I left a sliding door unlocked, and he let himself in, as kangaroos do!

Taken by the light of the lamp on the left. ISO 2000, 16-35 Canon lens at 17mm, f3.5, 1/80.

    Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

That's a great sight Charles, made me laugh thinking about him opening the door to come inside.
    Cheers, Brad.

Thanks Brad. I have to remember to lock the sliding door, or Tucker will lean on the door to slide it open and before you know it, he is inside.

I always push him outside last thing at night, and one night I didn't have the sliding door locked. I happened to come back into the room to find the door open and Tucker asleep on the carpet just inside the door! We have returned home a few times to find he has let himself in.

I listened to the story Charles. Tissues nearby. A very poignant tale. And a lovely photo that would have sat well on the cover, had it been a novel.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
