  • ANZAC Day for us

A collection of photos put together of the morning of ANZAC Day. Was a rainy morning here in Cairns so I didn't take my dslr out, only my p&s. The light showers held off during the march but the few vehicles with oldies in at the end (assuming they had people in them since windows were tinted), it started to rain. The ceremony at Munro Martin Park after the march was cancelled since it was then bucketing down but a ceremony would be held at the RSL. Was a small parade but still significant to all.

Kalen my now 17yo son was marching with Navy Cadets and hubby was standing beside me wearing his medals. He said next year he will march. It was a good morning, the girls behaved and so did hubby My boy is 3rd on the nearest side. Out of the three cadet services, Army, RAAF and Navy Cadets, our Navy Cadets did a better job at marching I kid you not. They were all in sync with each other. It's something you watch for in all marches. The marching at the War Memoral in Canberra by some was impeccable.

Here is a collage of Navy Cadets from TS Endeavour, personnel from HMAS Cairns, the wreaths at the Centotaph and me and the family in the car for a group shot with my phone.

Compared to our local cadets yours look to be much better marchers Anna, their lines were crooked and not that many arms and feet in sync.
