Lunar Eclipse and Blood Moon over Perth

4 stages of this mornings blood moon eclipse from full moon to 99% total. Very cloudy so not brilliant shots but scored a few from around 3am. The first shot is 11:30pm last night and shows how it turned before the eclipse. it moved from east to west and the moon appeared larger than normal.

This photo shows how bright Mars was and its position close to the moon.

Bugga, missed it. I thought it was on Sunday morning, sad thing is I was awake at 3:30 making my usual pit stop.

Cheers John. I deep sleep and don't get up during the night so I had to set the alarm! Apparently it was not as good over your way as it was in the west.

Good effort, that would be more like my eyes at that time of the morning!

Thanks Greg. Not the best quality because it's very low light, but I'm happy with the results from the Canon SX-50. It kills my Siggy 150-500. I must say I was a bit blurry eyed myself at that time of the morning.
