eastern grey kangaroo feeding joey

there were quite a few kangaroos out in the wet weather over the weekend.
this mother was feeding her growing baby. even though it still gets in the pouch (amazing really)
at this age they still get a feed of milk from the teats without actually getting in there to do it.
d5 600f4 tc17 (1000mm) 1/160 f8 iso 6400. full frame. light mostly gone.
just noticed a straight bit of grass across mums tail. wonder how much it bothers everyone?

Beaut pic, grass does not bother me -- image could be a bit darker maybe + a bit more saturated maybe ??

Lovely to see nature at its best. Kangaroos are just so unique and quite fascinating to watch. I agree with Phil, just a curves adjustment to 128,105

Wonderful shot. Grass over the tail doesn't bother me, probably wouldn't have even noticed it.

I agree with all that has been said before. Lovely natural shot, great detail but the contrast could do with a boost (I like contrasty images). Not sure I would boost the saturation by much.

Oh! and the little blade of grass is not a problem.

Question for ISAC - you mentioned curves in one of my earlier posts and I have been looking into them but where do the numbers come in? (bear in mind I don't have Photoshop).

Hi A&B, the numbers are the INPUT and OUTPUT values of the TONAL range of the image. When you first create a curves layer the tonal range is 128 for both Input and Output. If you slide the diagonal line on the curve grid it will change the tonal value and the numbers will represent the change. If I drag the Y axis to 150 (upwards) and leave the X axis at 128, I increase the brightness of the mid tones by 22. There are heaps of Youtube tutorials that explain the curves principals. I use them daily and they are great for colour correction when applied to each channel (RGB).
