  • Park at Eagleby Wetlands

I had another go at doing justice to these large trees between the carpark and the lake and bush at Eagleby Wetlands. I used a slightly longer focal length this time.

All with Nikon D850 and 24-120 f/4 lens

The monochrome versions were created using Nik Silver Efex, applying a yellow filter and boosting brightness and contrast.

    1. This looks much better when viewed full size.

    G'day Alan

I dance between #1 and #2 to try to discern which I like better ... and I can't coz they are so similar !
Tree - sky - clouds - hi-lights - contrast ... wottabugga to try to separate two beaut images

Thanks Phil. When viewed at larger similar sizes, I prefer #1 but it’s close.

Super shots Alan - all 3. I love a good tree shot. Great BW conversions with lots of good contrasty shades and nice wispy clouds. I like a really dark sky in BW conversions even if it was bright when taken - it adds strength to the main subject.

Thanks Isac. I think trees difficult to photograph well. I find the 6 or so large eucalypts here interesting so I have a crack at them occasionally.

I'm glad you do Alan, they are great looking trees. I like the "see through" trunk in #3 also.

Excellent shots especially #1 & #2.The light on the trees makes them almost glow against the moody dark skies.

Thanks AlfandBen. I suspect they would be even better in IR.

Great shots. The white bark makes it an excellent subject for a B&W image.
