  • Dawn light falls onto the rocky gorge walls

    G'day all

Taken a few days ago when we were at Trephina Gorge in the eastern Macdonnell Ranges that surround Alice Springs, and following a 1/2-hour walk by torch-light from the camping area to the gorge itself, then watching and enjoying the change from 'black-dark' to this wonderful red glow from the pre-dawn colouring in the sky

    As always, feedback welcome

Fantastic. Made it worth getting out of bed for. That's why it is the red center.

The red is extremely vibrant and you've nailed the colours in these Phil. It's a great time of the day to capture these stunning colours, but not for all

            G'day fellas

One of the blokes on the US photo forum that I frequent ... one of the 'commentators' rather than a contributor made a comment about 'fantastic colors ... lucky you were there ... etc, etc,' followed by exclamation marks. I replied to him "all it takes is a bit of planning ... it is what any competent photographer would do"

Strangely I haven't heard any more from him
