  • This was summer.

The blue colours were amazing at times.

    G'day Hans

Putting 2 + 2 together I make out your visit to the Great Ice Land Downunder
Wonderful patterns and abstract lines, and very delicate colours ... a 'well done' from me

Only thing is you don't get a sense of scale Those blocks of ice could weigh many tons. The blue is caused by all the air being squeezed out of the ice by sheer weight.

Thanks Phil Isaw some others of interest that I have not shared here and may add a few.

Beautiful set of images Hans! Great patterns in #1 and the light and shade really give it some texture. I like the B&W conversion too. Is it the green that you don't like? it somehow doesn't seem to fit in that particular landscape, but if it's green it's green!

No I like the green. It was a surprise to see it. It seems a bit out of place but then again so am I.

I do agree with you Hans! It's very hard to see in the black and white version

Would love to have some scale here but imagine BIG. Iwould imagine the horizontal lines to be anual snowfall.

Tried that, no good as yet. Maybe I'll have a play when I'm not busy. It's not that important because I have the Tamron 18-400 which more than covers the range.

Having fun revisiting these. Don't recall if I had raw files. Can't find them if I did.

You don't need RAW all the time Hans. JPG images nowadays are a lot better than years ago, especially if they're for the web.

Absolutely stunning images Hans. Having cruised the Inside Passage twice now, I can attest to the blues and greens within the ice.

Hope youbgot good weather John. We had crook weather for the Chileam fjords the reason for the cruise but the captain found that the weather was breaking south and got permission to speed up. This meant we went through very slowly in great weather.

We had good weather for both trips Hans, except for Skagway, but it's always raining in Skagway

Wow added furniture as well. Looks like I may have to move in. Debating whether I should add more images here. I may start a new slide show of antarctica I have enough images.
