as to horizon, agreed but image too old to bother with - otherwise sun's shape is atmospheric distortions ??

This is a great shot Phil (pardon the pun). I can't see any reason for shooting such an iconic bird. Maybe it was a person who doesn't follow the "Eagles". We even get crazies shooting our Black Cockatoos.

Just wanted to say a collective "thank you" to all here for your feedback to the images posted over the past couple of weeks. It is obviously another momentary diversion from an otherwise quiet day around the house!

Our small site shows just over 100 views, one of the US sites shows over 800 hits and the UK site shows over 1000 hits ~ all a bit surprising to me

Great shots Phil. I've seen all those things above - so thanks for the memories. My BIL was the Shell depot boss in Meekatharra for years and won so many prizes for selling the most fuel and oil per month. He supplied the mining companies and they used it like it was water. He won trips to Hawaii, cash, gold bars etc. Lucky guy but it long hours, hot and dusty yakka.
