Everyone who has visited the Flinders Ranges (South Australia) has taken this pic of Razorback Ridge.

I have been here twice and have taken pics at sunrise, sunset at night and in the middle of the day - which this one was taken. You can see the impact of the harsh light.

To me they show how important good light is. Unfortunately when travelling we can only get the shot in harsh midday light and don't have the opportunity to visit early or late in the day. Glad you had the opportunity.
