    You sound a bit disappointed about about these Scott.
    Your iso was low at 100 and so was your speed, especially if you were hand holding.
    Did you use a tripod?
    For a 270mm lens these don't look too bad at all really.

      Not bad at all. I'm never happy with my "close ups'" of the moon either but these show good detail - even some craters visible.

        I'm never happy unless the pics are perfect.
        I guess I set standards to high for myself.

        I did use a tripod.
        I though 1/200 was about the right speed. Should it have been faster??
        And I never thought of bumping up the ISO.

        If it is clear tonight I might have another go.
