Chatsworth house - a family home.

When we arrived, the gate was closed. Someone called Hoot was asked to slow down. They seemed to like dogs though. More about that later.

When we got in, the house seemed quite nice.

The hallway was quite cosy and unpretentious. They wouldn't let me try out the piano.

We were just in time for lunch.

We got some good decorating ideas for when we get back home.

The 5D2 was always a real chick magnet for an old douche bag like me.

Someone has nailed a violin to a door. (Not really. It's a painting on a door!)

Their statue collection was good. Here is a girl doing a statue impersonation.

A highlight was the collection of Poodle paintings. Art lovers from around the world flock to see these excellent paintings.

They even have mugs with poodle photos, and the violin painting.

In the garden one of the fountains was over flowing ........

.... and running down the steps, making them slippery and dangerous to walk up - as I found out. I reported this to the family.

Not a bad little hovel. I notice you've also managed to include a gate, balustrades, some stairs, empty seats and some poodles - excellent day's work.

I made an offer they could easily refuse!

        Well spotted Alan.

And thanks for noticing. I was pleased with the day's work. Someone has to do it!

If they were to fill in that puddle in the front lawn it would make a great footy field (I hope you reported the leaking retic also, if it gets too soggy the ump will have trouble bouncing the ball).

Oh, and square trees! Now there's a species I'm unfamiliar with, learns something everyday I does! A clever gardener could really do something with them.

What a wonderful series of images Charles, thanks for sharing. (loose cannon heads to camera store to buy 5D2)

Thanks Mick. You have made some excellent points.

I worked out the square trees problem. As you can see below, they have special cows trained to munch them into shape. We don't have them over here.

Ahh, I see, special cows, that would explain the poodle images.

Can't use just any sort of dog with special cows, well known fact in cow circles. We use lesser varieties of dogs here and just look at the uncultured appearance of our trees!

You have to hand it to the Poms for their survival ability. I couldn't live in such cramped conditions with my family.

I went back and couldn't find square trees.
Don't think I could live there, too many rooms to clean

Someone else cleans them. You don't have to. That's how the aristocracy works.

Square trees at edges of #2. They had them everywhere!!

25 pounds for a mug! Guess they have to raise funds for the cost of lawsuits due to people slipping down those stairs somehow.
Loved the images...and your funny commentary. So want that parquetry floor!
