  • More Korean food

My son's mother-in-law prepared a Korean meal for us.

    1. Live octopus freshly bought from the local market. It's ok - the kids had to wash their hands BEFORE touching them.

    2. Octopus tentacles cut up and served raw in sesame oil. They are still wriggling so pity I can't load the video

    4. Her husband' has a collection of alcohol that the doctors won't allow him to drink. This is ginseng alcohol - ginseng steeped in Soju - a rice based spirit. Has an earthy taste. Reputedly great for male virility.

Well I can see them. Tried a post from my phone which may not have been a good idea. I'll try again.

MJ224 after many attempts try now. I can’t do the Korean pronunciation but in English it’s “so-jew”.

My goodness, what a food selection. I have always wondered about Pigs Trotters, like the chickens claws, there can't be much to eat there...

I like Octopus, but have vowed never to eat e=anything that is still alive...

A great insight on how others do it. Far more healthy, I suspect, than our local Tesco...

      Thanks Mark.

Actually the pigs trotters were just sliced pork, probably more like bacon hocks I suspect.

The octopus wasn't alive, just alive recently enough that nerves were still causing movement. Most of the visitors declined it.

The thought of it wriggling down there after eating it is not great....

And how down does it stop moving...
Working...
