Sawtell Headland

Had a day off yesterday and took this in the morning. It was raining at the horizon.

Lee Big Stopper was used on Kodak T-Max 100 4 x 5 film. Set ISO reading to ISO80 and gave me an exposure of 2 minutes F22.

that has worked very well with nice cloud movement. I would be cropping off a bit of the foreground though.............in between the odd paver and the seat

To my mind, the crop works well. For me, these types of shot are all about capturing the ambience and mood of a time and location, and because of that if the seat was too prominent in the the composition of the shot it would become overly dominant as the primary subject. As this stands my eyes are drawn past the seat and out into the brilliant skyline. I love the feeling 10-stops give clouds, that sense of dynamic action in an otherwise serene environment.

Thanks Tim. I left it uncropped for this reason. If there was someone sitting there, then cropping as Ian suggested will work better.

Thanks Xaiya. I developed the neg with Tetenal Ultrafine developer and scanned using Epson V700. I don't have the equipment to print 4 x 5 (yet). That would be awesome if i had the enlarger to print the negs.

seemed to turn out pretty well! ...I heard something about a coffee developer the other day, I keep meaning to look into it...I think it was called caffenol!

...I regret having to sell my enlarger when I was at uni...there is something magic about processing your own stuff!

Heard about the caffenol. Havent tried it yet. Have a few developer formulae from Ansel Adam's Negative book which I would love to try. Checked Vanbar and they have individual ingredients in stock. Might give pyragallol a try one day.
