  • A trio of birds enjoying the sun

Birds are something I really wanted to photograph but was always unsuccessful, a new camera and new lens and I'm practising like crazy

Gull (one of my favourite birds), this one was obviously practising for the ballet -

Peacock head, I'm thinking that I should maybe crop the neck a bit -

Thank you, there were quite a few around but very few on the ground this time.

        G'day Sharon

Beaut to see you again- and your peacock pic is a beauty
You ask about a possible alternate crop .... I can see 2 possibilities -- blue line and red line
        "watcha reckon?"

        Hope this helps
        Phil

Excellent shots Sharon. What camera and lens are you using.

For the peacock I would go for something like Phil's blue crop but perhaps a bit looser - just depends on your taste.

Thank you :-) I have gone mirrorless to a Nikon Z50, it seems to be a bit lighter so less hand shake which is brilliant, the lens is a Nikkor DX50-250.

All lovely Sharon. Blue crop from Phil with a bit more space - not so tight. Even a square crop but use Rule-Of-Thirds to have active space in front of the bird.

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.
