  • Spoonbill, Pelican and Mannikin

Some more birds from Fridays wander around Tygum Park. There was plenty of variety and action on this morning, but these are more static shots

    1. Royal Spoonbill. This and the pelican are standing on the small jetty which is under water due to the recent heavy rain.

Isn't evolution wonderful. I want a wider bill to sift more dirt. Some very good images to add to the collection.
Better a full bottle in front of me

Thanks Hans. Both the Spoonbill and the pelican have adaptations for feeding that appear to make preening more difficult.

      Eating must be more important.
