Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Good work on the duck Hans. Keep it up.

I like #2 although not sure what it is exactly. The strong diagonal of the stairs works well against the darker background.

Nice shots. I do find myself liking the second.
      Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

#1 is a goodie of the duck Hans. #2 has good interest with those stairs and your POV is spot with or without the duck.

A wonderful one-legged duck HansE, the 2nd is interesting, , and the third is striking, to say the least...:-))

#1 Nice clear shot and definitely a Duck. Is there some meaning to the structure in #2?

you sure did. first pic probably needed a little more head turn towards camera, maybe duck crap cloning out also.
2nd shot is a winner in my opinion, with or with out the duck
you find yourself wondering on what you are seeing and the strong diagonal line works too. good work

It was already testing my patience as it wouldn't show me his eye. Yes the ornament looked interesting but had me puzvled as to how I should compose it.

Typical someone actually finds the stairway to heaven & it's the far side of the world!

As others have said that 2nd shot is really striking.

Not very local, a 24hr flight when I visited NZ, and the return flight the other way was very similar.
I didn't make Christchurh, heading down the west coast when I was on South Island (I only had a few days & Fjordland had to be fitted in)
Sadly works not likely to send me out again

It is a beautiful country and a delight to visit. So much more relaxed than say Italy.
