I had spent an hour wandering around the lakes and got nothing at all, when I saw this bird a long way away in the tall grass. I tried a few shots just so I had something to take home. I did get more shots later and considered just deleting this set of images, but decided to see what I could do with it.
It came up better than I expected, but too small for anything except web display. I had to remove some clutter from the edges of the frame.

1. Cropped and processed. This is a 1623 x 1217 pixel crop from the original frame, resized for the forum.
