  • Striped Honeyeater, I think

    This bird was foraging in the foliage of a medium size tree and I couldn't identify it or get a clear shot. I didn't think I had any usable shots at all but found this when reviewing the images at home.

    It isn't a good shot due to high angle and obstructions but I'm posting it to confirm, or correct, my id, so any feedback on species would be appreciated.

    My best guess is a Striped Honeyeater, Plectorhyncha lanceolata

    I think the shot is a good one for your reference library Alan. It shows all the markings which you need for ID, so it's a keeper. 100% a Striped Honeyeater. The weird thing is they mainly eat insects !!

      Thanks Isac. The non-honeyeater beak shape put me off at first, so it took a while to find a match.
