  • Wandering Whistling Ducks

A few months ago I got some rather poor shots of Plumed Whistling Ducks at Eagleby Wetlands. Yesterday I saw many of a similar species - Wandering Whistling Ducks there and managed to get some better shots of these.

I haven't seen either of these species very often, so was quite pleased to get these shots. The surface of the water was quite messy with many remainders of the plants that grew up while the lack was dry.

    Nikon D800, Nikon 500mm PF f/5.6.

    1. They were feeding on the surface weed by sweeping their heads back and forth on the water as the on in the back is doing here. And they do whistle

Fabulous Alan. Lovely images of the ducks doing what comes naturally. It's great to get something new into your catalogue.

Such great colours and suprisingly good reflections on the rough water. Good stuff.
