      They were shackled. They were in a bird sanctuary and could not be released. I was shooting at an aperture that didn't give a good dof so was a bit slack with the removal of tether.

    Lovely creatures Hans. Shame they are shackled. We have some black cockatoos at Kaarakin that are permanent residents because they are unable to survive in the wild but they are loved and well cared for and definitely not shackled - they are in very large aviaries.

        Thanks Arthur. I would like to go back and do them again. Did get some nice shots of other birds posted here before.
