Both good John. #1 definitely has the interest factor.

Nice sharp images. I think the crop in #2 is a bit tight but other than that - good shots.
I have one doing exactly the same thing John! (HERE) I thought it looked a bit weird when they were doing that, they are exercising the pouch (known as the gular pouch). Here's the interesting trivia about Pelicans for anyone interested.
