  • Swan close up

This guy popped his head up when least expected and caught me off guard when I was focusing on something else.

Not expecting it to just appear in my viewfinder - but it was a lot better than some surprises I've had in my past!

    Who got the biggest surprise?
Good work though, it’s not your regular view of a Swan, that’s for sure.
What focal length did you use there Isac ?
    Cheers, Brad.

Thanks Ironwood. I think I was definitely more surprised than Mr. Swan. Here's the exif data:
      Canon EOS 7D | Sigma 150-500 | Aperture priority | f:8 | 1/320 sec | ISO 100 | 289 mm | 0 EV | Metering: Spot

Nice and sharp with good colour and a nice clean background. Pretty impressive shot for being caught by surprise.

Thanks wigz. I reckon they are very photogenic and the whole family have stayed at the lake this year (so far) for the first time. I've counted 5 yellow billed spoonbills enjoying the spoils here as well.
