  • Twenty Eight Parrot

Twenty-Eight Parrots, also known as Yellow-collared Parrots, (Barnardius zonarius semitorquatus) are found in south-west West Australia. Its calls sound like the words "‘twenty eight," which explains their name.

Lovely images there Isac. I thought they were also known as the Port Lincoln parrot, also Barnardius Zonarius, but a different subspecies.

Cheers John. These WA versions are usually a mix of the zonarius (yellow belly) and the semitorquatus (red nose bridge).

Another great image from you - beautiful detail & pin-sharp ...... isn't it great to have a camera that one can actually focus!!

Take it from me Phil, a nice piece of glass in front of the body makes all the difference.
