  • Birds around my campsite

    G'day all

Enjoying some time at a farm stay in northern NSW - weather is hot but okay, grass is beaut & green, the pool is cool & wet and the birds are plentiful but damn hard to photograph as they flit to & fro between the bushes & trees

Here's a couple from the last few days ...

    1) a dawn pic, heavily coloured by the first rays of sun

    Panny FZ-2500; 1/1000s x F4,5; EV -0,7; 675mm [ff equiv]; ISO-125

    2) the good ol' maggie seeking something in the grass

    Panny FZ-2500; 1/2000s x F4,5; 475mm [ff equiv]; ISO-250

    3) the inevitable willie-wagtail dancing across the grass

    Panny FZ-2500; 1/2500s x F4,5; 475mm [ff equiv]; ISO-200

    4) a honeyeater in the grevillia tree

    Panny FZ-2500; 1/2000s x F4,5; 475mm [ff equiv]; ISO-200

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

Nice shooting there Phil. I like the Willy pose, also think #4 could be improved by lightening the birds head slightly, and maybe a portrait crop.
    Cheers, Brad.

Number one is a cracker. Lovely collection.

Great set Phil. I agree with Ironwood with the lightening of the head in #4 and I would also do the same for the Willie. I had a go at a portrait crop on #4 but it just didn't fit, so did a horizontal flip, added some positive space and cropped landscape 3 x 2. I know I chopped off the tail but it was covered by the leaves anyway.
I hope others have some different views. I also think #1 is something special too.

Stretched for sure Ironwood, it does come in handy sometimes. As long as you keep the stretch to a reasonable amount, it's a quick fix.

Ah Isac .... you're one very tricky fella
Hmmm - yeah I reckon it's a good stretch ... tho don't do too much filching or your next stretch might be 10-years !!

          G'day all

Thanks for your feedback - it's always something to receive comments from others, as often the image I am most unsure about, often gets the most nods from others
