    not taken many pix over winter for various reasons but hopefully can get a few now.
    this is from narragingy reserve west of sydney. went there to capture an exotic visitor that turned out not to be there but the late arvo light was nice on the water
    this is with the 200-500f5.6 nikkor lens which turns out to be a good walk about lens

    d4 200-500 f5.6 @500mm 1/2500 f8 iso 1600 handheld laying by waters edge. about 90 percent of frame. 2nd duck in rear cropped out

        not sure good gear makes a difference. (cant hurt of course) but the most important thing is light. whatever else you may think, photography is about light
