Well that's different, if he wasn't so colourful I'd call him a 'Collingwood Supporter' (1 eyed)
A sharp detailed image but I notice a problem above his good eye, maybe something was cloned out from there...not sure?

      Cheers.

Awesome close up. It always amuses me how angry birds look - even the cutest ones - when taken full face.

No cloning at all on this shot Gaz. I don't see a problem there.

Beautiful shot Greg. They're not easy to get because they're always flying at 70kmh. They do rest up now and then though and with the siggy it does make it a bit easier. Well done.

Thanks everyone. The swallows are nesting under the rafters in the kiosk at the Arboretum. The adult birds tend to return to the nest but before going to it, sit on the handrail just outside the cafe tables.

I had the camera sitting on the table and all I had to do was point it to get the shot. Tilting screen and live view is very handy on the Sonys and of course the big Sig is quite good around F8-F10 at 200-300mm.

Lovely portrait and light - don't see them that close very often. His/her right eye spoils it for me a bit

Yes funny that. The bird was quite excited as it was trying to get into a nest of young ones in the cafe rafters to feed them. All the head feathers were erect and some of them masked that one eye somewhat. I thought about cloning them out, but decided to leave it as it is how the bird was displaying at the time.
