  • Kingfisher - Before and After

    Sacred Kingfisher. Todiramphus sanctus. D7000 300mm x1.7 TC tripod f 7.1 1/640 400 IS0

I was following a Rufous Whistler today, when this Kingfisher landed above me, against the light.

I just had time to add some +exposure and got 3 shots off.

It was then going straight to the trash bin, but I decided to have a play.

It has some faults, but I have a pic I think can live with until something better comes along?

    Comments/suggestions welcome as usual

    That's an impressive improvement Alan.
Especially love how you brought out the contrast, improved the background distractions, saturated the colour naturally and eye light shines.

Haven't been there, not done that.

      G'day Alan

I'll second Jo's comments - well done with very good PP to bring up the bird

Goes to show, there's always hope. The end result was well worth it.

Excellent result. I'm amazed at how much colour you got in the bird and it still looks natural. I could certainly live with that result.

Thanks everyone. The advantage of shooting in RAW. Sometimes one can be too hasty in sending stuff to the bin

                Cheers
