  • Magpie vs Kite

    Hi

I think this is a Whistling Kite. It wasn't close enough to get decent shots, so the crops are a bit extreme, hence this treatment.

    Thanks for having a look.

Great action series Alan. I do believe that is a juvenile WB Sea Eagle. Big chunky beak in shot 1 and same sort of underbody colouring as the ones I see here, not to mention the size of it compared to the maggie . Nice set.

Magpie looks like he's dive bombing him. Who won?

              Thanks everyone

Skidlid - my bird expert mate assures me it's a Whistling Kite. (It's not as a big as a Sea Eagle.)

Glenda, yes he was being dive bombed. The Magpie gave up fairly quickly

              Cheers

No prob Alan, experts know more than me , it must have stolen a juvenile sea eagles size and beak then

Thanks Skidlid. You'll be pleased to know that 3 different birders have agreed with you that it is indeed a juv Sea Eagle, well spotted.

They all look the same to me.

                  Cheers
