Pied Oyster Catcher

The sun was in and out of the clouds and of course the sun just had to disappear behind a cloud when I took this shot.
That's foam to the left which the wind had whipped up along the shore line.

I like these little guys. At the moment they are running around flooded lawns in Devonport picking up worms etc. It looks like this one has something caught around a toe. Fishing line perhaps?

bird photo is good but you missed seeing this picture at your feet .

so how do they catch oysters??

Yes he does have something caught around his toes which caused him to limp. Would never have been able to catch him to remove it unfortunately.
