  • Common Birds from the Kitchen Window

Only a couple of common birds.

Between work and rain, I haven't been doing a lot lately, but I've been keeping an eye on the neighbour's umbrella tree coming into bloom. The Rainbow Lorikeets and Noisy Miners have started coming to feed over the last few days. The tree is conveniently only five or six metres from our kitchen window. Had to remove the glass and flyscreen though.

    really nice lorikeet shot.
good lines and light. engages the viewer well
    good work

a tiny bit more head turn on the miner would lift that shot.

Two really great shots, you are so lucky taking these from your kitchen window.

Both good shots but love the lorikeet one and you also got a perfect opportunity to clean the window and flyscreen

Excellent IQ. Lucky you to have obliging subjects. I also shoot through a window at times , but I can't remove the glass

            Thanks all for your comments.

I tried to capture some of the interactions as they squabbled over the flowers but didn't get anything decent - maybe next time.

I tried shooting through the glass but couldn't get sharp images. I thought at first that the autofocus was off, but it was just the effect of the glass.
