    this looks to be a juvenile royal that I saw being fed last time I was there.
    maybe that is why it is more laid back?

    Great images Stephen, you must have almost been giving them the kiss of life, even with a 600mm lens you must have been really close.

      yes they were super close, at times inside minimal focal distance on the 600.
      thats why the 70-200 got a game.
      last time I was there, the adult was very very wary and took off. I had to use the ground pod and crawl under some low branches in the mud but this guy didnt seem to give a damn. I walked in and sat down around 10-15m from them and they seemed nonplussed, and after a while went about their business.
      maybe the camo worked? but I suspect the relative youth of this guy and sitting still are the answers.

        How great is #1 showing us the inside of its beak. I think if it was an actor it would tell you this wasn't its most flattering profile but very interesting.
