A Royal Fly Past with a few feathered friends.
10-02-2013, 09:56 AM
Had a drive around yesterday, past a favourite watering hole. Managed to capture a few images.
Royal Spoonbills in flight.
Can anyone tell me which Kingfisher? Forest Kingfisher or Little Kingfisher?

Number two is my favourite, but I have a bit of a thing for birds on posts and fences.
The Royal spoonbills are such an unlikely looking flying squad! Very cool.

Haven't been there, not done that.

I'm thinking it's a Forest Kingy Gordon. Longer tail and green back being the main things I'm looking at.

Agree with Mick - Little has a shorter tail and longer thinner bill. Very nice photo of it too
Cheers

Some really nice captures. Really like the spoonbills in formation. Are you still trying for the magpie geese?
