  • Escaping chook ..

It's too hot here to remember what these things are called, but it comes to my dam during the day. May be there at night too, but I can't see in the dark.

I tried to sneak down quietly to get a few shots. When it saw me, off it went. Story of my life really.

But although it's not the usual BIF shot, I quite like the detail and shape of the wing, and the light against the dark green background.

My indecision is final, I think.

Nothing wrong with this image Charles. Great colours, bokeh and detail in the wing and I like the wing position too.

I like the way the light bounces off the subject. Good pic......bloody big chook though.

Yes not the chook I was expecting. I like the wing shape and there are some pretty pinks in its feathers. Look like huge wings for the size of the head you see in this shot.

          A white-necked heron it be!

Good light showcasing the wing, impressive capture against a dark background.

Quite a large bird and a beauty to have in your backyard.

good play of light and shade in this.
works well even though the bird is slightly flying away from the camera.
            nice one
