  • baby peafowl

These are interesting I think without being photographic masterpieces.

I have quite a few baby peafowl (Peacocks are the male, peahens female) and one of my pied birds has two babies. One is pure white, the other nearly all white. They have become particularly tame, and present themselves at the door regularly for a feed.

    The pied chick.

    The pure white one.

A male bird with mum looking on in the background.

A family the eats together, stays together.

    Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

Awww these are lovely Charles. I particularly like the first, and also the first of the family images.

    Thanks for sharing these.

I've never seen a baby peafowl before and they look really interesting with their large wing formation, great 'intimate' photos of them all - something which we the hoi polloi don't get to see, thanks for showing us.

I'm sharply focused Charles, no cause for alarm there!

Lacking composure and in need of a good crop perhaps but let's not get into messy details of my personal life.:shy:

It's time for my medication and then I'll be primed for action and ready to zoom off into the wilderness...straight after my afternoon nanny nap

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

                cute baby.

                first is my fave.
a bit of flash would probably have helped a bit.

Great photos, and an interesting family portrait.

How many would you need for a Pea Pie?

thinking that might depend on how big a pie you want

An adorable young family. I really enjoyed the low down perspective on these.

I agree about the flash Richard, but I was so close to them with the camera that I didn't really want to expose them to the light. Who knows where my flash was anyway!!

Thanks P Plates. They're a dime a dozen around here at the moment.

Thanks Alan. We have close to 20 babies wandering around the place at the moment.

Thanks Jo. Camera on the ground is as low as I can get, and they were less than 50cm away too!
