A night at the Fun Fair (part-1)

G'day all

Every xmas - new year the Fun Fair comes to town, and this year while staying at home, I was able to pop down and after permission from the boss, wander around and photograph activities at will. The 'payback' was also to photograph staff at their posts as well

Here's some of my playing around ... other posts will follow

I love all of these images Phil. This kind of environment is great for experimenting with ICM (Intentional Camera Movement). Using zoom blur also creates some wonderful effects.

Crazy stuff Phil! Very effective and really cool colours. Some of my shots have been UCM as well (Unintentional Camera Movement)

All were tripod mounted pics
#1,2,3 were using some horizontal panning with a slightly loose head, thus the slightly wiggly lines
#4 was fixed firmly into place

Q- would you like to rate them in "visual spunky level" to give me some idea as to the camera club items for a future comp on "blurry pics by sober 'togs"

I think these are all great Phil, so any order would be OK. It's all in the eye of the beholder. These types of images are great for creating blended images as in portraits or other objects such as cars, sports action, buildings etc. I could do some if you want to see what I mean - maybe that could be another comp for later.

The comp coming up has a judging definition supplied as ...

A photograph that simply records patterns of light and shade. The light will determine not only brightness and darkness, but also the tone, mood and the atmosphere in order to get the best texture, vibrancy of colour and luminosity on your subjects. The light source can be either natural or artificial.

I think your images cover the brief Phil. Only me, but I'd blend in some buildings into the first 3 just to see the effect. I'm a bit undecided what as to what the first sentence really means because light and shade to me are just the contrasts, which can also make up the pattern. Good luck!
