Colour works the best for me Alan .... love the oil paint filter on foliage .... and bare, twiggy branches can become quite beautiful after the effect has been applied.

I like your style with these oils Alan. Colour for me and I say that because I've not seen (that I can remember) a grey scale painting. You seem to have a knack for selecting the right photo. Well done.

I wasn't sure about the B&W either, but it has more 'Favs' in Flickr than the colour version.

I find images with fine detail, eg hair, feathers, grass, small leaves and branches, bark etc work best
