I was thinking more along the lines of a partial desaturation for the background leaving the red beard as the strongest and dominate colour.
I'm fine with the original and this is just a suggestion...

Thanks Mick. I never thought of partial desat, looks good as it reduces that glaring pink nicely. I't's only recently I've started using the opacity slider to reduce the effect of something. Still so much to learn about PP
