  • Good morning from the hawkebury

I am a retired 70 year old with time on my hands and got into photography a year or so ago. Have been looking for a forum with like minded people and it looks like I have found it. Thanks for having me. My main interests are seascape/Coastal and a little dabble in Aviation. This is still very much a learning curve for me so will be interested in your critique on photos I post. Here is one from North Curl Curl taken the other night.

    Regards
    Ross

Gidday Ross and welcome. Looks like you have some good ground there for your photography.. We all learn something every day and since I retired I realized just how much I didn't know!

Be your own worst critic and only show your good ones!.. This shot is a good start, well captured.

        G'day Ross

Welcome mate to the wild and wacky mob of fellow photographers that make up this beaut forum
You will find us pretty open with helpful responses to your images and also to queries you may have

One of the nice things I like about this forum is that we're more interested in the image rather than the camera / lens you were using [although we're always stickybeaks as to what you are using !!! ]

G/Ross. .."welcome to the forum ...I,m a little older then you (79) you will find that we are a weird mob but we have one thing in common, the love of photography. I'm not very good on the technical side of posting details I leave that to the younger ones....For me your shot of north curl is nice and sharp..I like the gap between the rocks leads the eye to the crashing wave.....I once lived in Cremorn and worked as a mechanic at Norman G Booths...regards Bill

Hi Ross and welcome to the forum. Phil is right, nobody on here cares what you shoot with, the fact that you shoot is the most important thing. I do more with my phone these days than the camera! I'm a bit younger than you at 65, but who cares, getting old has some advantages - one day I'll remember what they are hahaha. Love the early morning shot you put up, captured at just the right moment with the spray framed nicely by the rocks. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.
