  • More live theatre imagery part-2

    G'day all

Saturday night I was at our local live theatre for a 'Best of the BeeGees' tribute band on their 2025 Aussie tour. And again using the Lumix FZ-300 with its wonderful constant aperture F2,8 x 24x zoom lens

These images are showing Greg Wain (as Maurice Gibb) on piano

    1)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/40s x F3,2; EV+/- @ --0,66; ISO-1600; lens at 8x zoom / 200mm FFequiv, AWB

    2)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/200s x F2,8; EV+/- @ --0,66; ISO-1600; lens at 17x zoom / 430mm FFequiv, AWB

    3)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/60s x F2,8; EV+/- @ --0,66; ISO-1600; lens at 14x zoom / 360mm FFequiv, AWB

    4)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/100s x F2,8; EV+/- @ --0,66; ISO-1600; lens at 14x zoom / 360mm FFequiv, AWB

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

Great work Phil. I like the keys reflected in the glasses in #2, very clever shot.

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.

More good work Phil, but not quite as good as the Evan Webster shots. Less engagement with the subject and the lighting has resulted in some blown highlights.

I didn't notice the keyboard reflected in the glasses until I saw Isac's comment. A nice touch no matter if it's very clever work or a happy accident.

          Thanks fellas

As to the reflections - I noticed them from time to time when the spots were pointed down from a certain overhead light, which came and went along with other coloured lights
It was a matter of pointing, getting the amount of zoom I wanted, composing, waiting, then shooting (at 4fps) and hoping

The beauty of using the small FZ-300 for theatre work is that I can hold for some time it at whatever zoom setting it is without audience issues that would come along if I was using, say a 100-400 on a dSLR ... along with the almost silent 'click' from the shutter as I am firing away
