  • More live theatre imagery

    G'day all

Saturday night I was at our local live theatre for a 'Best of the BeeGees' tribute band on their 2025 Aussie tour. And again using the Lumix FZ-300 with its wonderful constant aperture F2,8 x 24x zoom lens

These images are Evan Webster (as Barry Gibb) on lead guitar and vocals

    1)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/320s x F2,8; ISO-1600; lens at 24x zoom / 600mm FFequiv, AWB

    2)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/320s x F2,8; ISO-1600; lens at 16x zoom / 430mm FFequiv, AWB

    3)-

    exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/125s x F2,8; ISO-1600; lens at 6x zoom / 160mm FFequiv, AWB

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

I agree with Paul, great work Phil. Using a nice Gretsch G5655TG Electromatic guitar, great sound. He even looks a bit like Barry. We played a couple of BGs songs last night at a gig - they are very popular still.

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.

Great set of images in both "live theatre" threads Phil. As you well know I purchased a FZ-300 a few years back and ended up giving it to me son as I became frustrated with the menu system (very hard to teach this old dog new tricks). Anyway, my son has given the Panny back to me as his new home and 2 daughters take up all his time, so I'll be having another crack at mastering the Panny.
I'm interested on your setup for these images, did you set the aperture at 2.8 and leave the shutter speed and ISO on auto, or did you adjust settings as you went? The reason I'm asking is that my wife and I are doing the rock the boat cruise later this year and size of the Panny makes it a more crowd friendly option than the Canon R6.

          G'day GJ

Okay matey ... the -300 is a great unit =but= does not fully equate with the R6, so some aspects will delight while others may disappoint.
Bit like some cars will do you and others won't

My Base settings permanently are Picture Style = Vivid

For this gig I set to
          "A" mode @ F2,8 (tho I tried F3,2 for a few ... didn't do much)
          ISO @ 1600
          EV+/- @ --0.66
          Burst @ "M" mode of 4FPS
Focus @ Face / eyes mode
          WB @ AWB

so leaving shutter speed to look after itself

ps- I will PM you as well about other stuff
          Phil

Thanks for those settings mate, why the EV+/- @ --0.66?
I always shoot in RAW so the Vivid setting would be redundant.

More excellent shots Phil. The first two in particular have great impact.
