A Night at the Opera

Some kulcha for you'se all.

I was asked to provide some images from this recent event and these are a couple of my better efforts from the night. A few processing tweaks are required as the red channel is a little hot in places but overall I'm happy with these.

The Canon 70-200 f/4 continues to amaze as all images were captured from the rear of the venue.

Impressive results Mick,I`ve been looking at this lens and it seems it performs well on the 7D,as my 70D is very similar it gives me a good idea of what to expect.

Thanks Kev. It's a dynamite lens that stands head and shoulders above anything else I use. Bought it second hand on this forum and it's one of those 'wow' pieces of kit.

To be honest it's probably better suited to a full frame camera but is so good that really doesn't matter. I was probably about 40m back from the stage and these images are all cropped.

Nothing wrong with these Mick. Sharpness, color and exposure all spot on.

Great to see that you and proper kulcha are not complete strangers.

Bet you had to wear proper shoes before they let you in.

I don't follow fashion trends, I start them.

Expect a rush on these beauties, get 'em before the price goes through the roof. You heard it here first folks, no need to thank me.

Oh, and I should mention there was a prize for best dressed.

Reckon I had it all stitched up till this guy turned up. So close. The judge is a good friend of mine too!

Very impressive Mick. Agree about the 70-200 f/4, I love mine as well. Not too sure about opera singers wearing the jimmy jams though haha. And while we are on strange attire - what is happening with the best dressed guys shoes

Well, just to correct you there Lloyd, I think you meant to say the second best dressed guy.

He obviously got to the shop after all the good shoes were gone.

These are great shots and different to your usual more gritty muso shots. Your shoes remind me of one of my brothers-in-law, an accountant in Sydney required to wear a suit most days he always used to arrive home for Christmas in the brightest board shorts, bright Hawaii style shirt and the oldest, holiest Dunlop volleys. His nephews loved his dress sense.

My wardrobe is somewhat depleted these days and I'm basically down to my camping clothes but have little interest in throwing any money in that direction. I'm a bit of a scruff.

good colour LC . 70-200 in Canon and Nikon is such a work horse lense, I love it , opera in Broome.......WOW the place it getting very cultural .....
