I guess this an attempt to try to add some colour and modernity to an otherwise grey and traditional city.

I'll leave you to judge as to whether they succeeded.

I can see what you're doing Alan, but I feel the composition is a bit too busy, too fragmented and lacks a strong focal point - just has too much in it.

That said, it is an interesting shot to let the eye wonder over, but those two cars on the left nudging the pole worry me.

I quite like the foreground, cropping just past the two girls with the umbrella, maybe just including the black car or perhaps cloning it out.

Mmmmm..........

But definately an interesting shot that's got me thinking - no small feat for sure!

Your comments exactly picked up on the odd ball things I saw in the scene - totally out of whack and strangely complex - and why I posted the snap here. It upset my eyes and senses as well, so I guess I succeeded

I tried a few crops, but went with this one - I must be bored

Always appreciate your considered feedback and would be disappointed with anything less. When you say something nice I know you mean it and when you offer comments they are always based on experience and knowledge.

No worries Alan. I sensed a certain synchronicity going here, so I realise you would see through and not appreciate anything less than honesty on my part.

Another point about your post - it presents a kind of radical departure from your usual more minimalist style. You have a larger and more complex canvas happening here, with all sorts of areas and corners to explore. I realise that I almost need a new set of eyes to appreciate it.

I don't think I'm being too dramatic here. Hope not!!

Although this image has it's flaws, stylistically I think this large canvas complex style is an interesting avenue worth exploring.

And you are just the man to do it!!
