      Surprised me, I don't normally use this camera for dedicated bird shots as I can crop much deeper with the Sony A7 and still retain definition. It's a great camera just to carry about though. Did all my photography on Lord Howe Island with it last trip and wasn't dissappointed.

      No Isac, it's just a clever version of in-camera digital zoom. Normal optical is 25-600 equiv. and providing you're shooting Jpeg you have the option of taking it out to 1200 mm equiv. I rarely use it past 600 as you do lose some detail, but at a pinch it's not too bad.
