      Slightly damp there Greg, perhaps something more than gumboots would be required. Good photos as well.

        If it's anything like the soils here in Mandurah, it will be gone tomorrow and when you did down 5 cm the soil will be dry.

          Takes a bit longer here Jo. We've had record rainfall and flooding for over a month now and the soil is pretty well saturated. One of the unforeseen problems (apart from the bridge wash-aways), is the amount of river rock and shingle that has been deposited on farmer's paddocks. A picture in the paper the other day showed a lady farmer standing in a field waist high in river shingle. The paddock was previously used for grazing her dairy herd, (which she also lost in the flood). It will take many many months of hard work just to get somewhere near where they were before. With record low milk prices it may never happen!
