I had been watching this family of swallows for a while at the Arboretum while going about my chores. As I worked out what was going on, I was able to anticipate the feeding pattern well enough to be able to capture it. If you blinked... you missed it .. the adult bird didn't land to pass the food!

Well captured Greg. I reckon there's only a few of us that can claim they have swallow shots. Like you, I sat for ages watching a whole family feed a baby who was quite content to sit atop a star picket in the middle of our lake. Quite special just like yours is. Good post.

Pretty cool Greg. A few mouths to feed. I thought they were House Martins or something but not Swallows as I see them often up here flying around and nesting in the eaves of buildings and at Newell Beach, there were a family nesting in a phone box .. as in the ones you walk into to make a call. .. Always a joy to see such things

Well captured Greg. There are thousands around here but I've never seen this before.

Thanks for the comments. Not a lot of difference between the Martins and Swallows by my books, however these are likely to be Welcome Swallows by their distribution and the look of the adult birds.

Might explain the vast numbers of one eyes swallows. (only kidding).
Very cute image, made me smile.
