Farina Ruins...a muddy mess.

Was trapped here for a few days (northern SA) waiting for the rain to stop. Gave up on day three and drove out...sideways mainly. Lotsa fun but not many pics.

Here;s my camp. Notice I'm washing dishes AND tightening the handle on the gimpy hammer at the same time. It's called 'multi-skilling' folks, you heard it here first! No need to thank me, I think this could really catch on.

The road south, this is one of the better sections, I wasn't prepared to get out of the vehicle on the bad bits lol, too busy hanging off the steering wheel.

Ah - the dry interior. That doesn't look like much fun.

I think I suggested in some earlier post that you may be a 'Rain God' and rain clouds love you so much they will follow you anywhere.

As I sit sweltering at my computer desk having just checked the radar for the twentieth time in the wild and soon to be abandoned hope that it may rain today I do recall you making such a comment Alan...things have changed

It appears my powers have deserted me. ( Could be an unintentional pun in there.)

Very muddy indeed Mick. I have seen it many years back so thanks for the reminder. The last time I saw mud that good was at a bucks night and the mud looked a lot more inviting than the mud you were in

Yeah it's good fun

I'm off camping tomorrow for a few days into an area of the Kimberley where the weatherman has promised some storms. Wet season camping can go a couple of ways, the nights can be cool with a pleasant breeze or it can be an unbearable sweat fest. Never really know till you get there and that makes it more fun than the predictable dry season stuff.

The plan is to have the storms pass nearby so I get good pics but not so close that my camp gets smashed and the track in gets wet. Early wet season storms tend to be intense but small so it's a real chook raffle. The last couple of years I've taken some direct hits and there's nothing to do but sit in the cab and repair the damage to the camp later. I'm overdue for some good luck.

If the track in cops rain then the drive home can be quite something to remember.

Good campsite, table and chairs, drop toilet and nature supplies the shower. Bet the road was slippery.
