  • Roadside diner

Just to prove I'm still hip and groovy and up to speed with the younger generation thought I'd better use my iphone to shoot a meal.

Stopped along the track for a late brekky

Eggcellent - but I think you have to share it straight away on Instabook? to be really hippy

Whatever - it looks good enough to eat

Photographing your meal is certainly pretty cool and groovy Mick. I like the look of it too.

But then again I've always thought of you as a groovy hipster. Not sure what that says about me though.
      Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

Ah yes, Instabook, I've heard of that, a copper told me all about that the other day. I asked him to like me and he damn near threw his book in my face.

The answer (to that), my friend, is blowing in the wind, down the foggy ruins of time on desolation row on a jingle jangle mornin' far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.

(note to self: must speak to nurse about medication levels)

          I'll drink to that!

          Oh, I don't have a nurse. Just a supplier!

Yum, looks good and glad you ate well during your travels. Must admit I just don't understand the need of the younger generation to share every mundane part of their lives via social media.

On my recent 14.500 km trip up to the tope end and back took both eggs, yoghurt and Goulburn Valley peaches (plus other good stuff like wine and beer and duck). Biggest problem was many of the eggs got broken from the corrugations on some tracks and the opened but then sealed peaches leaked into the car fridge. Also hard to find good quality sour dough bread.

Never had a problem with broken eggs but my fridge sits midway between the axles, position is important. Most wagon owners have the fridge behind or close to the drive axle which is the worst possible spot. Also, I have always run low tyre pressures and travel slow and easy. Having to repeatedly stop to re-inflate tyres is a pain but it pays dividends long term.

I've traveled some of the roughest tracks this country has to offer and then some with no problems at all over a very long time frame. I've also always owned leaf sprung 4wds and this forces slower speeds if you want to keep your teeth inside your mouth.

Mick - I think the problem was slowing down and trying to get to a destination before dark. Yes my fridge is at the back of my Prado. I do drop pressures. About to launch on another trip later in September.
